Celtic Knot Church Windows Project

With permission from the property owner, I undertook this mural to brighten up what had become the drab facade of a disused pub. I’m happy with the overall result–but would have enjoyed adding more knots to the area above the windows if I’d had a better ladder or platform available.

Huge thanks to Brendan at the Tipp Town Facebook for connecting me with the property owner!

Mural complete!

Arches and pillars

Arches and pillars

on both sides of the windows complete the church gallery effect.

Celtic Cat

11 August 2024

Inspired by Celtic illuminated manuscripts, this cat has a “knot” for a tail.

Celtic Cheshire Cat

Re-used the same templates as the other cat, this is a “hidden” Alice in Wonderland feature–the Cheshire Cat, but in Celtic style.

WIP

Pretty far along! Windows are complete and all of the boards are painted. Knots need touch-up work and pillars haven’t started yet.

Blank Canvas

26 July 2024

This was the way the disused pub was when I started the project. Basically, just blank wooden panels where the windows used to be.
